Sarah Palmer is a photographer based in Toronto, Canada. Her work straddles the realm of journalism and fine art, questioning the conventional limits that both of these worlds hold for the viewer and artist alike. She explores pop culture and current events with a focus on the subcultures that these gatherings draw in.

She composes multi-frame exposures in camera, with no manipulation in post. By building layers of stories on the same piece of film, she attempts to make sense of the constructed realities we live in by playing with feelings of surrealness and nostalgia.

Clients include The Washington Post, Fortune Magazine, Vox, The Globe and Mail, Buzzfeed News, Refinery29, The Walrus and Maclean's among others.

She is a National Magazine Awards winner, Magenta Flash Forward and American Photography winner. Her work was included in TIME's Top 100 Photos of 2019, and has been generously supported by the Canada, Ontario and Toronto Arts Councils. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions internationally including Scotiabank’s Contact Photography Festival and Gallery TPW. She has upcoming exhibitions in New Zealand, Romania and the U.K.
